Is "everything happens for a reason" just cope?

That seems like a common answer when you regale a story to someone that starts negative but ends positive. Is it just cope?

God's plans are sometimes difficult to understand however, all will be well eventually - something I struggle daily to understand and live by.

There is no such thing as karma... the world is run by the most evil ruthless people - the international banking monopoly... they have never and will never receive a karma payback....

Life is just a series of random events without any meaning, without any ultimate purpose.....

Yes, I think it is a copecel phrase. I think the intended purpose of the phrase is to feel like a higher power has caused this scenario for some greater good than you are not currently aware of.

Literally something you could never verify. May as well view it as a bad experience and just try to learn from it if possible.

Everything does happen for a reason. If you're walking down the road and get hit by a tire that flies off a vehicle the reason is because some dip**** forgot to tighten the lug nuts enough. That's a reason.

I hate when people say that chit, so what if your mom got raped by a some scumbag on the way home from buying groceries? What if your kid got hit by a car and died? Does everything happen for a reason or only the things that end up benefiting you either in the long run or short run? Karma is cope, some of the biggest pieces of garbage I’ve ever come across are living their best lives, happy as can be. Some of the best people I’ve known end up struggling their entire lives. My Uncle was one of the greatest people I’ve ever known, he always tried his best to brighten up your day, tried to make you laugh, and was just an overall great person. He died in December, after suffering for months and months. Nobody can tell me that happened for a reason.

not if you look into it deeply, finding reasons why it had to happen, etc. you can find meaning in lots of things you don't like

it is definitely a cope

not only is it a cope to try and believe negative things happen for positive reasons

but its also a cope thinking your life is so significant that some omnipotent being cares enough to construct stupid ass bad events to happen in your life to ultimately lead to better ones

You aren't, no one in the universe or cosmos gives 2 fuks about you besides yourself, immediate family, and close friends. Otherwise your existence in the world is as equal to an insect living for 1 week.

Yes, sometimes it is a cope mechanism. Sometimes something bad that happens pushes you into something positive. Best example would be you get fired and then find a better job that makes you glad you were fired. You're GF dumps you and you meet a much better girl.

The phrase is so obviously true but the interpretation or implied meaning is cope. Of course everything happens for a reason. Eg the reason someone dies is disease. But beyond that it’s not the divine reason people want.
