A thread about pet adoption-yeah, I’m rinsed
We adopted a cat named cocoa about 10 years ago on craigslist. We paid the adoption fee. A couple showed up in a Cadillac convertible. They were in their 50s-60s. The woman was crying, and she said she would miss her baby. Well, my wife and I took care of the cat for about 2 weeks, and realized something was wrong. Took her to a vet, and found out it was feline leukemia. We payed for her chemo, hand fed her, hugged her, and comforted her until she died. We spent about 10k, and would have spent more if it helped.
This isn’t a post of resentment. This is a reminder of what you should consider before you decide to take responsibility for dog or cat.

we got a puppy husky last month; 12 weeks old and didnt have shots. 3 days later, the puppy was lethargic and was not acting like a puppy at all. we took it to the vet and she was diagnosed with parvo. vet was straight up and said a lot of puppies wont recover and die; they have to fight off the virus themselves, so there isnt much they could do except feed her, stop her from throwing up, and keep her hydrated. she was at the vet for a week and survived, but set us back over 3k. it was worth it. my boys fell in love with that puppy, and she's a part of the fam, so there is no way i would sit back and do nothing
