Berkeley to be first US City to end all purchases of animal "products"



This week, the City Council of Berkeley passed a resolution to slash the amount of animal products the city purchases by 50 percent by 2024, with progress on the goal to be reported to the Council by the City Manager by January 31, 2022. Further, the resolution adopts a long-term goal of phasing out all purchases of animal products and replacing them with plant-based foods.

I live in Berkeley and I can tell you this is bullcrap. We have so may stores with raw milk, raw dairy, grass fed meat...much better options than most other places.

I will say that there are tons of vegans though.
