Yea it was great because if someone made a sht thread and no one really responded it would be on the 4th page in a few seconds. All the good threads would be on the main page. It was more fun. Funniest moments of my life (online) we’re had in the early 2010s

IIRC, it was the 3rd largest/busiest forum behind 4chan and offtopic.

It's where the term 'fast Misc is fast' came from. Even if you posted a new thread, it may have immediately gone to the 2nd page. You had to multi tab topics/threads if you wanted to keep up with them.

I joined in 2005 when I was still in highs school, and posted exclusively in the weight lifting sections. I eventually noticed Misc. It was pretty similar to that meme, really.

I used to be on a board that was solely focused on moms buying different brands of clothing for their young children and it was probably 4 or 5 times busier than misc now.

I came back to browse through the MISC several months ago. Was disappointed. Back in that 2011-2013 era it was where everyone was at it seemed. Not sure what happened. RIP misc.
