I think Americans are super nice and generous compared to people in Europe

It's kind of a geographical principle thing. Like, America has long/straight public roads (no dink pun) where we can take advantage of car engineering that is fast in a long/straight line. Eurocels don't really have the same luxury - take engineer cars optimized for roads based on things like the Nurburgring. A good analogy is Nascar vs Formula 1.

I wouldn’t say most are. Really depends on the upbringing and the geographical area. I did find that most great high school athletes are extremely arrogant. You can just tell by the body language and how they act on the field/sidelines.
