UK Study Supports No Need for COVID Vax Under 18
I know you're tired of the subject. We all are.
But though I felt myself that there is no real need to vaccinate children it's nice to see some confirmation.
The UK study put the odds of death from COVID for people under 18 years old at 2 in one million with the odds being even lower for children under age 10 and children w/no underlying health conditions.
If this study got any coverage in US news I missed it.
The Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunization for the UK generally recommends against vaccination for those under 18 with some possible exceptions for specific situations.

I mean if they widely published this information in the US then we shouldn't be hearing of parents mad about masks because "my child can't be vaccinated yet" or worked up about masks in schools.
Wouldn't want to reduce the fear and panic.

Real-world data on the safety of COVID-19 vaccines in children is currently limited, but there have been extremely rare reports of myocarditis [inflammation of the heart muscle] and pericarditis [inflammation of the membrane around the heart] following the use of the Pfizer-BioNTech and Moderna vaccines in millions of younger adults.
Until more safety data is available and has been evaluated, a precautionary approach is preferred.
