What is a good number to get on an inspirometer?

Something like a simple Voldyne 5,000, what is a good number to get? It's measured in like ml inhaled or something. It goes up to 5,000, I've gotten to like 4,000ish. I do really good at high intensity cardio, and yet I can't really hold my breath for too long, and it seems like I should be able to do better with this thing, maybe I have bad lung capacity.
