Misc Phone Whores Assemble!

So I don't really give enough of a chit about cell phone specs/etc to keep track of the latest models, but it's time to replace my phone so I need to know which way to go. I have had good experiences in the past with Samsung Galaxy phones, but my current s9 I have hated since I got it 3 years ago, so am ready to jump ship if there is a better option.

Currently the 3 I'm looking at are the Galaxy S21, LG v60, and Google Pixel 5. No iPhone crew.

Mainly I just need something for web browsing and to get good pictures/video of my baby boy. I don't use it for work or anything that requires a lot of processing power. Durability and long battery life are a big plus. I don't want a big giant honkin tablet sized mfkr either, so the s21+ and Ultra models are a no-go.

Give me your thoughts tech nerds. Reps for koala tea responses.

Went from an s9+ to an s21+ because they had a good trade in offer when the s21 came out. I think I had an s7 before and have had multiple samsung galaxy tabs for work and personal use
Only paid $200 and still think it's not worth what I paid and will be looking at other brands when this one dies. Samsung has basically turned into a garbage version of apple

I've had an s9 for over 2 years now

My only compliant about this phone is the moisture detector is extremely sensitive..and If there is dust in charger port it won't let you charge it

Might grab a new one soon , but you're right fk those tablet sized ones

This is what I was afraid of. I had a couple s5's, s6's, etc, and loved them, so I got the s9 and it has been utter crap, I was hoping Samsung had turned it around in the past couple years but I guess not. My wife has the LG v60 and likes it, so I'm leaning pretty hard that direction right now.

Unfortunately it's probably too big for you. It's the biggest phone I can think of, even bigger than the s21 ultra. But maybe give a big phone a try, you might like it more.

Also LG just left the phone business (although they say they'll support it for two more years of updates, but LG is pretty crappy when it comes to Android updates). Also LG doesn't have that show off factor like the pixel and the Samsung does. But if it was me I'd get the LG V60.

Between the pixel 5 and the s21 I'd go for the pixel for better build quality, it looks better to me, the smoother android experience (google makes android), longer android updates, better pics (although I think samsung has better vids), physical fingerprint sensor on the back.

Some reasons to get the samsung are it has face unlock, better processor (although I don't think you'd notice the difference), and it has a better show off factor...
Damn, LG getting out of the game does make buying one now a little worrisome. I think I could get used to the size of it though, didn't realize it was as big as the 21 Ultra, I thought my s9 was ridiculous when I first got it but my wife has the v60 and it doesn't feel THAT much bigger than mine when I end up carrying both while we are out.

Moto G Power series. I'll never go back. It doesn't have flagship specs and the newest one only has 720p video but honestly I can't tell a difference. A difference I do notice though is that my battery can last 3 days. They are cheap as fuk too. I got one right after lockdown started because I had no other options and was going to replace it as soon as things opened up but that changed after I saw how long the battery lasts
