A novel idea I have for Nanowrimo. Sci-fi/philosophical. Would you read?

As per title, this is an idea for a sci-fi & philosophical story I plan to write for the national novel writing month in November.

The provisional title is "Beacon".

'After a global apocalyptic event has decimated the vast majority of life on Earth, an assemblage of scientists, philosophers, mathematicians, theologians and scholars safeguard whats left of humanity's knowledge in a walled-in sanctuary, and are basically the last remnants of the human race. One day, the sanctuary receives a signal from an extraterrestrial race offering safe harbour and a new start in their society, many light years from Earth.

On one condition: Leave everything humanity has ever known behind, and embrace a new and fundamentally alien worldview.

Basically I take an end of the world kind of story, and mixed it in with Neal Stephenson's Anathem. Would you read this?
Back off, Warchild.

Seriously.

Depends on how you do it I suppose. Seems like a pretty generic concept and I'm sure sci-fi will be overloaded with post-apocalyptic chit inspired by COVID. All concepts are made better by the writer. I would read nonsense by a brilliant writer over a good idea created by a piss poor one. Depends on where you take the concept of where they go as well.
