It's in a detached garage, going to be a bit of a hassle.

Maybe a Canadian thing. I'm certainly not tipping them 18% of like $1,500.

Rep if you make a little paper 'tradie' bag (with it written on there as well) with a monster/slim jims/few scratchers in it. Then film yourself handing it to them.

Assuming it's 2 guys moving it and connecting it I'd say $20.00 each even though it's a relatively simple job. Don't want to look like a cheap cuck and if you can't take the 40 dollar hit then connect it yourself.

Scratchers. Dying here.

My wife, Asian, thinks we shouldn't tip at all. I told her I'd stay out of sight (I'm white) to confirm stereotypes.

Yea, I think this is reasonable. It's either 20 or 10 (that's the bills I have) depending on how long it takes.

Update

Zero tip was given.

Two traddies showed up, said my pipes were "too corroded" (they are not - copper pipes barely even show oxidization) ditch the washer in the driveway - don't install anything - don't haul the old one away - and peace out in like 2 minutes.

Well did you pay for removal of the old one? If not, that's on you. If so you need to call the store and sort those fukers out.

Yes, that was part of the service that I paid for.

And I got it sorted. They will come next Friday and haul away the old one and I got that refunded - so I paid nothing to have it delivered or have the new one hauled off. For $25 and tip I'd have preferred for them to just do their job though.

Too lazy to upload, but they just look normal copper pipes. The dude at Home Depot laughed when I showed him the picture. The installation was free, so I went for it. I've actually never installed one, so it's a good chance to learn.

Lol at American tipping culture. I have never tipped an electrician, plumber, delivery guy in my life and never will. I would have a great time in US not tipping in restaurants, no fuks given

Tipping culture is out of hand, but if you do come here do tip at a restaurant. It's really built into their wages - you should just look at the menu and think everything is 15% more expensive. I'm sure food in Oslo is at least 15% more expensive than here.

Yeah. its a little weird.
If it was the plumber or electrician and he owned the company of course he is not getting a tip
If it is a delivery guy and he does not fawk up the product and smash my walls I will toss them a $20.
If they are making $15-$20 an hour a $20 is probably a big deal.

Right now I am pretty busy. So I get old changes done at a garage near my house.
The owner runs the counter and I always throw the oil change/mechanic a $20.
Mechanic remembers me because of that.
Owner I of course do not tip
