Asked a friend what the word "Latinx" means

I have heard it said by pResident Biden, all sorts of woke media types, as well as woke self-hating whiteys. It always hits me funny because this is a new word. I'm thinking surely there was some push by the Hispanic community to change from the traditional "Latino" and "Latina" as well as using the masculine form of Spanish words to refer to a mixed-gender group "Latinos".

So I asked a friend who is Dominican and has lived in the US for about 8 years. And she looked at me like I was insane. I said, seriously, what is a "Latinx"? I hear it all the time now. She laughed and said that's not a real word.

It is a word made up by mentally ill people to escape the reality that there are men and women and that's it. They tried to make a language which has gendered words and terms "non-binary" to please the alphabet gang.

As the person above said actual Latino people hate the word.

Real latinos (poeple actually born and living in latin america) would never EVER use that word. TBH over here and in latin america in general we don't consider US "hispanics" to be real latinos. If you havent lived the third world experience first hand with all its ups and downs then you're just another gringo, srs.

In real life any person from latin america would HATE to be called "latinx" it's an offensive gross over generalization, considering that every country from latin america is unique and regions within each country are very unique themselves. Latinx is what a condescending but pseudo woke low key racist white person would say, srs.

I live amongst a lot of Dominicans and Puerto Ricans. The only ones who follow any of this woke stuff are the 100% black Dominicans and PR's. Most have some African and Native but look like chick in pic and maybe a little more tan, but most hate all this crap. There women still hold onto their sexuality and their men still act like men.
