If Osama could outsmart the entire global intelligence system and plan a sophisticated coordinated attack while dying in a remote cave without modern medical treatments, AND hand select a crew of ragtag saudi camel herders who could pull advanced banking maneuvers after failing flight school, then the US should have killed him they should have offered him a job.

IIRC Osama was not even fully aware of the plot, let alone being the mastermind.
From what I can remember, he played some part in the financing or initial stages but that was it. Al-qaeda was like a base (al-qaeda literally means 'the base' in Arabic) for a network of wannabe Jihadis constantly testing out new attacks and terror plots against the west, most of which failed miserably because they plotters were generally retarded. 9/11 was one that was actually executed better than they had hoped.
Osama was generally a financier and spiritual motivator for hard-line Muslims with a death wish. He wasn't some evil genius plotting attacks from a cave, this **** ain't a move breh.

What I always wonder is why they would fly planes into the World Trade Centre and (supposedly) the Pentagon instead of the White House or another major US monument like the Capitol building?
