How does gravity affect time? I think its a bunch of BS

Supposedly in a strong gravitational field such as a black hole, space and time bend, making time “slower”. But how can this be? This is just time, it is constant and present, it is not a “timeline” or a straight line”.
, this chit ain’t avengers endgame.


I feel these are a bunch of BS chit made up by physisists that’s isn’t even possible and only based off primitive math. Just lol @ basing 7 trillion stars off some math a dude in the 1900s made.

gravity has been rebutted since it was first conceived and later on by renowned scientists like Tesla. But if I say it i'm just a crazy person


and you're right. I can look through a telescope and see a star and it looks like some shiny colorful thing, but NASA tells me it's a huge sun x trillion trillion light years away so I guess it is...

It doesn't slow down for you personally, it's a constant. As said above, it's relative. So if you drop into a black hole, to the extent that you can be observed, we see you slow down and you take forever to be consumed. But from your perspective, you get spaghettified in an instant and its all over.

its something like 12 mins a day they have to reset satellite clocks/timers to sync with earth

There is no gravity. That's well known. Our minds create it to comprehend the effect on bodies in motion through bent space. In the unique case of being on a planetary surface, we all can easily agree with the idea that gravity "exists" because it's hard to demonstrate that it doesn't. But go into space and put yourself between 2 extremely large moving masses, and our intuition about how objects will behave due to "gravity" will be all wrong. Gravity is a concept. It's not actually real, but we can use that concept to make very accurate calculations about locally observable behaviors (i.e. local being within the volume of space in which the Earth is the dominant cause of the bending of space).

dats not it, but if satellites that control things like GPS all over the world were not synced with the earth things would turn to chit pretty quick

It’s measurable with atomic clocks.

Clocks which are extremely precise and synchronized with each other that are at different altitudes, like one being on the surface of the earth and one being on the international space station, will experience time differently due to their relatively different proximity to the Earths gravity.
