Do you agree with school compulsory laws?

The whole parent's rights with masked kids thing got me thinking why is it even a law that kids have to go to school? For example: Florida Law (Section 1003.21, Florida Statutes) states that all children who are either six years of age, who will be six years old by February 1 of any school year, or who are older than six years of age but who have not attained the age of 16 years, must attend school regularly during the entire school term.

Of course homeschooling is an option but even with that there are strict regulations regarding what the parent has to do with following a curriculum and keeping daily logs for inspection by the school board.

Shouldn't parents have the right to do whatever they want with their kids? If parents want their kids to watch TV all day, why should the government say that's not allowed?

For the record I'm libertarian and disagree with mask mandates as well as school compulsory laws. I'm wondering if anyone who is for parents rights agrees with school compulsory laws.
