incentive


basic of all economics is that people respond to incentive. it drives their behavior


if they got out of prison and would rather commit more crimes than earning money honestly, then prison wasnt sufficiently hard for them to incentivize them to not commit more crimes.

make prisons harsher to incentivize people from coming back.

Also police have to be doing their jobs in the first place for them to feel there is a sufficiently high enough risk that they will get caught and prosecuted.


there are a lot of car thefts here and obviously the police are doing fuk all about it because nobody seems to be afraid of getting caught and/or the consequences of stealing cars. They dont have that problem in singapore, i bet they have a stronger incentive there.
