Wtf? They pay insane taxes and it doesn’t even cover public restrooms? How are people not just going in the streets like in Cali?
Brb, free healthcare but need to pay to use the bathroom. Brb, checking into emergency room because I need to take a ****.

Certain tourist locations charge 20pence to use the toilets. I can't remember the last time I had 20p on me

Public toilets are free in my city, only place ive ever seen paid ones is at Waterloo station in London for 20p and even then you can just pop into McDonald’s or something for free instead.

Free in most places. But I live in Cornwall. I can imagine up country in the more populated areas they charge. I know the toilets in Plymouth trainstation do because I almost got caught slipping there. Lucky some old man saw my face and lol'd as he gave me the money

As a civilized society we seriously need to re-examine our priorities.

I can only speak for London and Worthing, but I've only seen 1 paid public restroom. In addition, the public restroom at say...London Bridge or Victoria station is like 100000000% better than Penn Station or Grand Central. I've seen hoodrats go in a full bathroom in NYC and jack somebody out of their bathroom stall cause they had to chit so bad.
Much better public restroom experiences

Only place I ever saw it was in London in the 1980's. The problem here with council cuts is trying to find one that is actually open-but it is probably 95% free & only a minority charge.

Depends where.
I've driven through most of Europe and while i've seen it in some places, the only place it seems to be actually common is Germany.
In the UK it certainly isn't the case, apart from at some London stations (which is a joke tbh)
