Switched from apple to Samsung phone, I'm not receiving any apple text messages

As the title says, when people send me a text on their iPhone it still sends it as I message so I never receive it on my Samsung phone. I turned off imessage on all my devices and went on the apple website to deregister my number from apple imessage.

Anyone had this happen to them?

I did this 4 hours ago

Yeah it happened to me before...no clue how to fix it. It sort of fixed itself after a pretty short period. Maybe like a day or so

Did you have an older iPhone with at and t and they sent you a 2018 Samsung so youโ€™d replace your phone finally? Been hearing thatโ€™s happening to a lot of people

If I donโ€™t back up to iCloud when I get a new phone all past iMessages are lost
