I did 5x5 style for a long time and ended up fat and looking stupid. Been doing bro split style training and I’m making way better gains than I ever have.
I was basically just copying some of Ryan Humiston’s workouts. I’m throwing in a 5x5 for whatever I’m doing that day now and it’s working pretty well. I’m basically just focusing on aesthetics muscles now because all the compounds gave me a blocky torso and string bean limbs.
Now I do arms and shoulders twice a week, back and legs once a week, and a lot more cardio/boxing.
Haven’t tried PPL but I can’t imagine having the energy to do cardio or boxing training with that kind of split.
