I used to work as a Hooters Girl in my twenties. Now I did very well with the tips and I got both respect and genuine appreciation from the many men that frequented the place. ALL the girls dolled themselves up, but only a few got the big tips and the genuine attention and the rest had to HUSTLE their asses off and flirt like crazy just to get average tips and attention from the guys. So no one is created equal, appearance-wise or socially, in the entertainment business. Just facts.


I remember some of the waitresses on my day shift would pull such crappy ch*t to try to sabotage me and one other 'bombshell' from looking competent at significant times to management. But management was smart and they knew what was going on. I actually had to sit down with the boss a few times to try to help straighten things out- make that shift a more girl-friendly environment between coworkers. These girls were super competitive, but they needed to be; they felt threatened by a few stand-outs and felt the need to use manipulation tactics in order to compete and make money.



I remember wondering why they even applied for the job if they were flat-chested or 'not beautiful,' knowing they would be compared to other girls and competing for the same thing- male validation and money. They had to resort to disrespectful and catty behavior just to get by. They didn't know that "low-level" modeling wasn't suited for them (Hooters establishments were considered modeling 'gigs' back in the day)? My point is that looks, in certain industries, ARE very important and are needed to attract business and revenue.
Fact: My first-generation uncle was a boxer who fought Sugar Ray Robinson! He also fought in the war, sacrificing the career he deeply loved, so people could have the right to freedom.

Let's show RESPECT for the POLICE and ALL FIRST RESPONDERS by helping to keep THEM SAFE AND SOUND, and thereby able to PROTECT US!
