Should I lease a car for a year?

Been living away from home for the past 4 years but moving back for my last year of school next month. School is about a 40 min drive. I could use my parents car but its a ****ggy vehicle that I hate driving and also I'm not guaranteed access to it 100% of the time I want it. I have enough to buy a car in cash but my mom just suggested maybe leasing something instead. Any bros want to offer any insight?
