I mean, it's anecdotal sure, byt my entire extended family lives in rural Maryland. None of them have college degrees or are particularly intelligent people (which I don't say as a slight), all of them work more or less menial labor or factory type jobs, and every single male (three cousins, one uncle) has a mortgage on a two-story home, a decent newish pickup truck (if not a second car in the family as well), a cute wife, and some kids.
Millenials all want to live in San Francisco and make $100,000/year working for some ghey startup and then act shocked when they can't afford a $1.7 million home.
