she touched it because it was blatantly not going to drop, and both the American players agreed, you can tell from their reaction. It was after that one of your hooligan assistants stuck his oar in and claimed the hole. Nothing to do with the official she didnt see it and said she didnt know where the ball was, which is when she asked for the tv replay

the american players were absolutely fine with the ball being picked up because it wasnt going to drop in

but some neanderthal assistant or caddie claimed it would have, which is what we in the uk call 'a whopper', and the Americans were awarded the hole basically on a technicality.

at which point the usa team could STILL have declined to claim the hole, but of course, USA! USA! fuk sportsmanship, fair play, fuk everyone..
