An entrepreneur can't just give you 'tips' over dinner that are somehow going to make you successful/rich. If it were really that easy everyone that works for them/surrounds them would quit and build a multi million dollar business based on what they learned from them.

What are you......living in your moms basement, making $30k/year going to learn from him? Yes he's worth billions but him telling you how he did or what to invest in or whatever is going to literally have nothing of useful substance for you, the average incel.

He made money from making music, he used that money and his popularity to segway into business and invested well. Hell, Id take the money down to about $5k before I'd consider having to pick out what I'm going to wear and the social media crap I'm going to have to deal with from having dinner with Jay-Z.

Not really, as with many, many other people worth millions someone had to be in the place and time where the opportunity presented itself. Could have been many different rappers, but it was him for some reason. He's not considered the best rapper in any circle I know, looks like a troll, isn't anything special.

Did it take some skill to get there, sure. But a lot of it is luck, as are many other things in life. The thing he 'did differently' is have his work ethic coincide with lots of luck, and no I'm not one of those 'millionaires don't deserve their money' nerds either, I just recognize success for what it is, some hard work and a lot of luck.

He was legitimately great when Reasonable doubt came out and it is widely considered one of the greatest rap albums in history, personally i think he has gone downhill since then but he's had a couple of good albums, it's not just pure luck.

I'm not a huge jay z fan but have to give him props where it's due. He also made most of his money through business & investments, not through his own music, so he probably knows a little and is a legitimate entrepreneur... obviously not much he's gonna tell you over dinner and anyone with a brain is taking the 500k, but still.

Not saying he's some some business mastermind or whatever, but those are the facts. To pretty much claim he's just lucky is a bit of a stretch.

I didn't say it was pure luck. He's a much better rapper than many others and I know I wouldn't have been able to make that opportunity work if I had been presented with it. No jealousy or anything, I'm very happy with my life, I just recognize the reality that wealth has as much to do with luck as it does work. I'm not 'rich' by any means but even my meager wealth is much due to the fact I was born with the mental capacity to be great at IT and also happened to apply to the jobs I did and the people liked me.

His advice likely wouldn't be worth more than an MBA textbook, but yes I recognize he has skills and likely a decent business mind.
