Neighbor SLAMMED into my parked car. $5-$10k damage PICS QUESTION
I live in a townhouse and my neighbor hit my car and there is extensive damage to it.
She left a note on the car with her phone number and saying sorry and came out when she noticed that I was checking the damage.
I had already called the police but she begged me not to call because she had already called her insurance gave me all the information. I still, let the police come and make a report. She admitted to the police that a cat was crossing the road and she slammed into my car to avoid it...i find the story sketchy but idgaf. The police officer took her statement and did not issue a citation because it happened in the parking.
She has some poverty Gainsco auto insurance i never heard about

I would not worry about this but today i found out that i don't have full coverage on the car when i thought i did. 8 months ago i was shopping for insurance and i remember putting that i want full coverage on my 2015 Mustang GT and liability on the 1998 Dodge 1500 but somehow stupid ass GAICO gave me quote for liability on both which I just accapted without noticing its liability for both.
How likely is it that her insurance will not give me the runaround and try avoid paying for this? I already called them and filed claim but i am afraid that since it was in the parking lot and she did not get a ticket that they may try to avoid paying for tihs.
Any tips ??? Should i look into getting a lawyer? I am freaking out mainly because i just learned that if her insurance doesn't cover it ill have to pay to fix it. PS fuk GAICO gonna be going back to Esurance.

“Wooops…”
I’m trying to figure out how she hit it. That’s a lot of damage.
As long as she says that it’s her fault then her insurance should cover all the costs.

sorry to hear about your troubles. that sucks. take a deep breath and relax. get a rental car. talk to your insurance company. give them a chance to work it out with her insurance company. get an estimate on your car from the best place in town - Ford Dealer? give everyone a few weeks to get this figured out. if you don't get satisfaction, then you can look into legal action. good luck.

If its her fault it wont matter your insurance status as her insurance will fix it as long as the police report says shes at fault.
Looks like coolant leaked.....maybe a total loss if it hit frame.....
Also, do you owe money on the brostang? If so, in most states its illegal to not have full coverage on a car that has debt on it.

Better pic you can see how far she pushed my car out of the parking spot. Did she hit the gas instead of a break...
She was pretty shook and freaking out when i talked to her and i felt sorry for her but at the same time i was like how the heck did you manage to do this?

Make sure you get that baby to a dealership for OEM parts. I assure you, the insurance company will absolutely try to point you towards an affiliated shop who will use cheap OE parts.
Good luck Op.

I'm not sure what the laws are in your state (I believe they do vary from state to state) but when someone hit my car, the woman had Geico. They tried to shortchange me every step of the way. The adjuster told me I would have to pay for a rental car myself (wrong) they lowballed the estimate (body shop quoted quite a bit more) and tried to push me into one of their "choice" body shops. I opted to go to my own body shop I know doesn't fuk around. When I dropped the car off and picked up a rental Geico flat-out tried to reject the whole thing. I ended up calling my personal insurance agent who told me exactly what I was entitled to. Geico tried to play the whole runaround game.
"No way bro we won't pay for it. We are not legally responsible for that."
"My insurance agent says she will report you to the Insurance Commission of Oregon if you don't"
"Huh. Sounds like there was some miscommunication. We'll go ahead and get it taken care of for you"
moral of the story: Have a trusted body shop and make sure you have a good relationship with your own agent. Or at the very least know they don't want you getting screwed over.

She must not have a license or has a warrant or something like that (you can have insurance without a license)
As long as you called her insurance company and are sure she took fault I would not worry about reporting it to the police
Any bs report it

Ive had two of my RL friends tell me it may be total loss another reason why I am freaking out. The car is paid off and is worth around $30 000.
Like i said i fully intended and thought that i had full coverage but i got tricked by GAICO. When i was shopping for insurance i kept putting full coverage for mustand and liability for my old truck and i guess one of their ways to get people to join is to just set both to liability to make the price lower and entice people to switch over. My fault for not double checking but i was just ready to pick one and move on.

They will do their best to low ball you......you can fight it and fight it, but they are on a timeline before it could go to arbitration.
ALSO, if you have ANY mods at all......get receipts and provide them to ADD to the market value of the brostang.
I had a hell of a time when I wrecked my 2013 Caprice cop car, had a cam'ed/head/headers swapped 6.2 LS with a 3600 stall.......I had to find receipts and make up receipts to people I owed that money to.

It depends on your state first and foremost
In nj it’s a no fault state unless you rear end someone or I believe get phukked up medically.
Some tard turned into my mom who was stopped about a month ago and she couldn’t claim through his insurance cause no fault even tho was realistically his fault.

Dealing with a car accident on my jeep srt8 as we speak......failure to yield on the other guys part and side swiped me.....insurance companies are pure chit ass......but thankfully cop report said 100% at fault.

Might want to lawyer up just in case the insurance company or the girl try to take you for a spin.
Will pay a bit out of pocket but you'll be sure you won't get screwed.
This crash is an unusual one imo

That happened to my next door neighbor except her car was completely totaled. One of the daughters of people across from her was backing up and slammed on the gas thinking it was the brakes. Shoot across the road into her car on her driveway and hit it hard enough to crunch the whole trunk and rear section into the front and push the car through the garage door and halfway into her garage.
You car looks like it needs a new front end cover/shrouding...forget name, paint work on hood and at least one new headlight. Doubt there is any frame damage, but you still should insist it gets repaired where you want instead a place they pick that even if frame damage, they won't tell you that.
