Any brahs planning on moving out of the US?

Now that this great country's values are being actively dismantled, what other countries are you considering moving to?



I'm moving to a remote area in Sweden and will live off of my investment returns for the forseeable future.



Lived a full life in the US before clown world, so IDGAF about anything anymore other than living a sane, peaceful life in the forest.

Under 18 demographic trends mean you’ll have maybe 20-30 years before clown world fully integrates itself into Swedish society. Still, I kinda get it.

I'm moving with my GF (she's Swedish and not a liberal POS)....housing costs would be approximately $500 USD/mo, plus food, electricity (about $20/mo), metro pass (about $100/mo), and then misc costs/needs.

If your portfolio is around 100-200k and invested properly, you shouldn't have any trouble living off the investment returns...if you have marketable skills, you can get a job and supplant your portfolio until it's bulletproof in the long run.


If you want to buy a house/apartment, you need 15-20% down payment....in a remote area you're looking at around 50k max home price, so ~10k down payment.....obviously areas like Stockholm will be more expensive and more in line with most major cities around the world.

As long as you're not a skill-less povertycell, and can learn the language, there is no reason you should have any issues..........if you already have substantial assets, it's like living life on cheat code mode since healthcare won't bankrupt you in the case of a massive unforseen problem.

Lol ****g0t....I don't have kids yet so I won't allow them to go through K-12 in the US, plus I won't take the vaxx since I have less than 4 months left in this country....if my job mandates it I will simply allow them to fire me. Sweden gives **** all about COVID.

the most dangerous cities are border towns and it’s 95% of cartels killing each other like any other bad area

Cartels don’t extort or kill gringos unless you get caught up in really really stupid ****.

The areas you would have to go to you would literally have no reason to be in as a rich expat

The cartels and Mexican govt are in bed together and both benefit heavily from gringo tourism. Killing Americans would be bad for business.

The only thing you would have worry about is getting shaken down by the Mexican police every once in awhile or maybe getting mugged if your wearing flashy stuff in the wrong neighborhoods.

With the ocassional pit pocket and that’s in TJ

If you actually have some test in your veins , like latinas, Mexican food , Tequila , like to party like a sick mofo , and want a dirt cheap col then Mexico is pretty tits really

I like the Baja side better though amigo , Mexico City is beautiful but idk about living in a hot ass jungle. Would be cool to visit.

All that said , I wouldn’t want to a raise a family in Mexico but for bachelors it’s great.

very good post, i agree with everything. If you are looking for cities with decent weather for most of the year i would advice to stay away from the South & North of Mexico, places like Queretaro, Mexico City, Guadalajara are all nice given u have decent money to afford the nicer areas

I’m more of a passive, index investor, but well aware of the long term macro trends so kinda passive/active.

I’m planning on having most of my assets in a solid yielding dividend ETF centered around fundamentals that will take advantage of the covid recovery…over time the yields will increase and inflation will further punish low risk/cash.
