What's the longest you have ever been on a cut

I'm entering month 7 of my post lockdown cut (did a LOT of damage)

I'm down almost 40lbs and I'm about 7-8lb away from where I need to be to start a lean bulk, which will probably take me 4-5 weeks but I'm so fooking sick of being in a defecit and daily I'm tossing up if I just say FUGG it and bulk now, but I don't want to finish my bulk at 25% bodyfat.

I got diagnosed with pre-diabetes when I was 38, went from 225 to 165 over about 9 months. Then built back up over 5 years. I'm in need of a 15 lb cut currently, I'm 205. 190 is as low as I want to go, I got down t 185 last summer, but that was after a week of the chits.

About 18 months. Went from 220 to 182 now and still going. Been cutting real slow, but gotta get down below 12% before I even consider bulking again. I'm at about 16% now

Throughout my lifting career, every *true* bulk/cut cycle I've gone through has been very long. I don't do them often though. I spend the vast majority of my time at ~maintenance calories and don't-give-a-fukk what I'm eating as long as I'm not putting on a ton of fat/weight.

Currently on a 12-14 month cut (Started in January) with my goal loss being ~21 pounds. 8 months in and I am down 13 pounds. Right on track for 21 pounds at month 13.

I do them slowly to prevent massive fat gain on bulks, and to maintain (actually increase) strength on my cuts. I've focused on my squat and OHP this time around and, in spite of losing weight and being in a deficit, have seen pretty solid gains for both of them.

I will agree it does kind of suck at times to be in a deficit, but there are strategies to help with that.
