Varg Vikernes had some interesting videos on his yt ThuleanPerspective about this before his channel got banned. He basically came out of prison for murder, and had a fangirl of his waiting for him. Moved out to the French outskirts, and father 8 blonde blue eyed children with her. Makes passive income from his role playing game and death metal albums from the past.

I'd love to ditch my smartphone and go mountain cabin mode. It would be nice building one by a clean lake/river. Stock up on canned food, get a rifle and some ammo, go hiking every day.

Going off grid isn't really creating a parallel society, it's more like removing yourself from society.

That's a decent option in today's clown world, but I would rather just live around like minded people while trying to fix society, at least in my area

I've been looking for land to sort of do this. Although I am trying to find something between a 30-45 minute drive to a city/town where I could get a job.

Still will have some bills and don't want to go completely offgrid/hermit mode.

Plus need money for supplies to build a cabin.


Living a 'simple' off grid lifestyle is actually pretty expensive.

Oh it sure is if you want to get solar panels and be able to play videogames and even access the internet

I'd like to go offgrid/hermit mode and bathe in a river, read books by fire, and never talk to anyone for weeks at a time. That would be pleasant assuming I have enough money saved up to buy food and basic supplies once a month for as long as a mountain lion doesn't kill me before old age.
