If online games like MMOs count, then Everquest by miles and miles is #1

As for offline games, no real order.

I like your list, absolutely nothing wrong with it IMO, rare normal taste from a miscer. Glad you decided to stock to single player because I find it so hard to compare Multi, I'll do the same.

Only played Doom (2016) from that list. A kick-ass FPS shooter and very fast paced. Alot of running, jumping dodging from fast lethal enemies.

I was an avid gamer in my youth but pretty much stopped playing as a young adult. I mention this because it’s likely why I haven’t played any of the games in this list, but I know Skyrim and Fallout are much loved titles. Never played Half-Life.
RE2 is my favorite Resident Evil also, I was so disappointed they changed Ada's Death in A Scenario in Remake.
Dark Souls was good, but I liked Demon Souls more.

The best game remake, perhaps ever, was for RE1. It struck a perfect balance of staying true to the original and adding new chit, plus impressively updating the gfx.

Ffx got me back into games after a long hiatus in jail then rehab. Dmc 1 came out as a top game in one of the goat year of releases

Gow3 is the best most challenging gow of them all.

Judging the first person's list with games that I've played.

Skyrim was kinda chit and marked the decline of Bethesda, I enjoyed oblivion better.
Fallout New Vegas was alright, not a top 3 game by any means. Fallout 3 left a stronger impact on me, although maybe because I played it first.
GTA San Andreas is a good game. GTA4 is better though.

My top 3 singleplayer games (not in order):
Ninja Gaiden for Xbox. Best action game. First run-through of this game will forever be one of the most intense, challenging, and stressful gaming achievements in my life. You aren't a gamer if you haven't experienced this at least once.

GTA4 (xbox360). One of the most complete single-player games I've ever played. The story telling was phenomenal, the city felt alive and raw. Once again, everybody should play this game through at least once. No GTA compares IMO. The weight and moodiness of this game makes it stand way above the rest of the GTAs.

Burnout 3: Takedown (xbox). God what I wouldn't give to experience this game again today. Too bad I need an original xbox since Microsoft hasn't ported it yet. One-of-a-kind experience, unforgettable soundtrack. They haven't managed to top this one IMO.

My top 2 multiplayer games (not in order):
Halo series. Splitscreen with friends is a memory that will stay with me forever.

DotA (Warcraft III mod). Before it got popular as chit with LoL and Dota 2, it was an exceedingly addicting and exciting custom game on Battlenet. Too much time has been spent playing this game.

Don't have a 3rd one.

- Age of empires 2: Conquerers expansion
- Halo 3 (the GOAT multiplayer game IMO, just perfect)
- Team fortress classic

Very hard to make a list of 3, but this is probably mine.

FF7, Witcher III, Gears of war 2, Metal Gear Solid 3 and GTA:Vice city are also up there for me, but i probably didn't have quite as much fun in these as the 3 i named. Tons of other games that have a special place for me, but probably not quite like these 3.

I can see why one would think this looking back, but did you play/were you aware of it in its day? It was 5 years ahead of pretty much any other game in existence at the time, it mogged everything.

Never got much into morrowwind, never played pathfinder but mirin FF7 & Halo 3 in that list. Also mirin half life, but do half life and all it's mods count as just one game? If that's the case i'd just have half life instead of TFC lol - i spent a lot of hours playing TFC and opposing force online. Played Starcraft but always found age of empires to be a superior game with more complexity, even though its similar (despite being totally different environments). Starcraft felt like you're always just rushing with very few viable strategies once the meta was worked out, and it didn't offer as much opportunities for booming/macro play/large scale late game battles as age of empires does, which i think is where the strategy truly resides over just pure micro.
