Morning workout crew I have a question
Finally throwing in the towel on PM workouts I'm just too cot damn busy to be consistent. Mornings are very doable I've just never liked lifting right out of bed. Did a lifting sesh this morning and I was all kinds of tight and weak. How long does this last and what are your favorite general warmups to get your body ready to lift in the AM. Especially for things like squats that will put pressure on your spine. Thanks for advice brahs will rep.

I have no solid advice for lifting immediately/semi-immediately after waking up, unfortunately. I've never been able to do it, and the only true injury I ever incurred (herniated two discs) was whilewarming updeadlifts in an early AM session. I honestly just think it isn't for everyone. Currently I lift at 11am, a full 2.5 hours after waking up and moving around.
Good luck though man, I hope it works out well for you. And repped for a lifting thread.

I've found that you need to just warm up a bit more. I do compounds as my first exercise almost without exception, and I think I've experienced the muscle tightness you're talking about.
Do 20-30 reps with just the bar (using squats as an example), do some bodyweight lunges, do some box jumps (or just jumping in place) to get your blood flowing.
Full disclosure, I wake up and have a cup of coffee before hitting the gym too though.

Just do some dynamic warm ups and stretches for like 10-15 mins before lifting.

On my end, I'm in my gym at 8 and have been for many years. I play drums as a limb warmup (dead fkn srs). 10 minutes of drumming will get the blood going. I then stretch inside my power rack. I like hanging from the chinup bar. I also do a few warmups leading into my heavy working set.
Maybe take a speed walk around the block? Make sure you hydrate.

I do some cardio to warm up before lifting, and even then I do a couple sets of BS weight to get my muscles used to moving.
