DESPISTE not all parts of MI and DETROIT being COMPLETE pieces of CHIT there VERY well LIKELY is a REASON for it being 35k DED fooking SRS. you'd be much better in some BACK country fly over state for the SAME price.

Can't be too bad of a area of detroit. Just looked on streetview and there's no bars on all the doors and windows.

Detroit is a pretty chit place to live, but if you can work remotely and are looking to save a lot of money that actually could be a good buy. Still though, I'd probably just move to Eastern Europe or somewhere if I had that arrangement, and quality of life would be much higher.

And you have to pay any tax liens on the home. It's a tactic the city uses to try and capture outstanding taxes as well as dealing with blight without using tax revenue.

Yep same with Chicago and East St Louis. Most of those needed a chit ton of work and you had to sign a comtract that you'd renovate and live there, but they were a dollar each.
The neighbouhoods were legit ghetto warzones with "heritage homes"

I'm sure some did. But I looked into lots of them. Plenty had no back tax burden. City just wanted to collect future taxes on their fair value. Some were also in okay shape (Srs).

Bigger issue is what the video says. Unless someone bought the whole neighborhood, they'd never be safe to live in.

If the areas weren't so dangerous it wouldn't be a bad deal for a young professional without children. 900-1200sqft house can be completely rehabbed without breaking the bank.
