Does anyone use MyFitnessPal?
Was watching Steve cook videos the other day and saw where he recommended the app for tracking your calories, macros etc.
I’m trying to manage my eating and shed a few pounds and decided to give the app a try. It seems pretty comprehensive and you can find pretty much any food known to man when you search. The foods will pull up with already calculated nutrients and you just add them to your day.
Any misc brahs used this app and found success? What about the premium version?

I've been using the free version for about 5 years now. I wouldn't trust the stuff in the database. I have found some of their numbers to be off. I put all my own food in. You can scan it on the phone app right from the container/package.

Will continue to use. I’ll be sure to double check the nutritional value on the foods to make sure they’re accurate.

If you're new to macro/calorie counting I would absolutely phuking recommend it. It's an excellent tracking app.
You can edit the numbers if you feel certain things aren't accurate, but most of the time I rarely had to do that. it also saves all the chit you input so you can easily pull it up later for anything you frequently eat. Plus just scanning the box to input the macros is ezmode.
Just by using it regularly for a year+ I learned tons about what type of macros are in what foods etc to the point where I can eye out my diet now.
DO it.

I started using it years ago. Helped me drop 30+ pounds and I’ve kept it off. Any time I feel like I’m falling off the wagon I go back on and start logging.
I do feel the calories burned for workouts is a little off compared to what my Apple Watch will say.
But it’s a good app if you’re motivated to stay consistent in using it.

I use it. Like others said, I added my own food to it. I would then save meals to make it super easy to track my macros.

I've solely done the freebie version, and I loved using it in College, and for a while after College.
One of the best things about it is there's online/shared macronutrients for things. So you can, for example, have a big mac and medium fries, then within the MyFitnessPal app you can look up "McDonalds Big Mac" and "McDonalds Medium Fries" and simply add them to your day. Also the barcode scanner to get your nutrient information is pure magic. It helps with the goal of converting "real life eating" into "tangible numbers", helping you make decisions on whether or not you can eat that snack you're craving, or if you can afford to have a couple of beers.
The only thing you can't get passed though is the need to measure things exactly to get precise nutrient values when you're cooking.

Back in 2011-2012 I lost 55 pounds with that app...
At the worst, I've regained no more than 20 lbs.
So it's legit imo.

No but every adult American should be required to use SOME for of calorie/macro tracker for at least two weeks if not a month. I used a different tool but it really trains you on understanding what's going into your body. And you will be markedly better at "eyeballing" nutrition going forward.
