Low stress 1000%.
The only way I'd deal with high stress is either if it substantially sped up my path to early retirement and paid back the years of my life it was taking, or it was Biden's America and that was the only job available.

low or even medium stress.
There is literally no amount of money that is worth a high stress job for any long period of time. You will get health issues and want to blow your brains out

the trade offs are compensation
if you have a high stress job with low pay i feel bad for you son
not sure if there's such a thing as a low stress job with high pay. maybe pro athlete. a lot of them don't really seem to care if their team does well and are just there to collect cheques. no hate, just saying.

I took a moderate pay cut to move to a WFH/lower stress job and would make the same choice again every time. Still skilling up in my spare time to earn more soon but it's one part of an overall lifestyle.
Edit: I should add I'm late 30s, married with a 6 and 2 year old, wife works and makes good money as well. Between the two of us we're paying all bills, saving 20% and have enough to have fun. For where I am in life the balance outweighs more money, since it's more time with the kids/less stress with coordinating our busy lives etc.
If I was in my 20s and single I'd probably be more likely to choose the $$.

I’m in a high stress position now and feels pretty rough. Feels like I’m always on edge…don’t know if its worth it
For the past couple of weeks its been team meetings with VPs of consturion, Finance, and Government Affairs regarding a couple of my projects and end up getting a couple bouts of heavy anxiety which makes me lose focus.
Tempted to go back to a lower position just for the sake of mental health, but I’m also torn because I have a chit ton of freedom

I'm in a low stress moderate pay job and i wouldn't move to a high stress job for double the money, even treble. Happy to just chill and take life steady. Nothing worse than being stressed 24/7 over some job you hate. Life's too short.

Best decision ever, basically a no-brainer.
It gives me time to focus on what I thinks important/develop more skills for a better role eventually

I hate those meetings which throw you off your focus when it's already a high stress position

In my experience, the more I've made, the less stressful my work has been.

I was in a similar position and recently made a switch to a lower stress and more interesting industry/role. Couldn't be happier so far relative to where I was

The trade offs are money and mental health.
I buckle under to much pressure and not much of a critical thinker so I stay around low stress jobs but the money I make reflects that. Friends are well into the six figures but they get gray hair daily dealing with the job.

If I like what I'm doing or think it matters to me, I'll take the extra stress on if necessary
