i think about my ex probably once a day. not in a sad ******* kind of way, but we did everything together for like 4 years so mostly everything in the city reminds me of her in some way.

Happens to the best of us brah. About once every couple of days I physically cringe when remember how beta I was when it came to an ex. Thankfully that was before I started posting things on the internet so the only person who knows how bad it was is the ex lol

But anything more than an occasional passing thought like that, I dont. No.


Obviously if im doing something or end up in a place where maybe we had a memory or something it may trigger a thought like that, but largely I am way too self absorbed to pine over/spend energy on that stuff.

Doesnt matter why or who was at fault, its over, so there is no point in wasting my energy on it. Life can be stressful enough as is, no sense in draining myself for no reason.

Mines were all over 40 years ago, don't know whether they were even still alive or not.

The good thing is they stopped aging. In those photos which I still keep, they are as beautiful as they were.

Bitterness was long gone and just sweet memories remain.

Me and my ex were together for 3 years straight and 5 years on and off, from the time I was 19-24, she was just a little over 2 years younger than me. I was her first boyfriend and she was my first real relationship, prior to her I really only had 1 other gf and it only lasted for a few weeks and it was when I was a teenager. The relationship was very rocky, the end of the relationship especially caused a lot of trauma. It’s not a subject I care to go into great detail on. However I will say that while I made some mistakes, she definitely wasn’t the person she tried to pretend to be. I feel like I wasted 5 years of my life and lived a lie during the time we were together.

To answer the question I think about her basically everyday to varying degrees, somedays it might be one quick memory or thought, some days it might be more.
It’s not because I miss her, it’s more because I think about what a waste of time it was, how unfortunate it was how she changed so drastically, how much I dislike her, how much pain we put each other through.

I believe I have been traumatized by the experience. I often have nightmares about her, where we are arguing or something bad happens. I also have these dreams where we are still together and everything is fine again, like when we were in our best moments and I thought we might be together forever.

Maybe the reason I have these consistent thoughts and dreams/nightmares is because it’s still a fairly fresh break up, probably half a year ago.
