Slowly losing all motivation to go to the gym.

The past few months I've been like this, only lifting 1-2 times a week. Today I attempted a PR on weighted dips with 30kg/65lbs for 4x8. Completed first two sets easily then suddenly on the last two I failed to get past 5 reps and it ruined my whole mood so finished my workout early and went home.

It doesn't help that in my head, everyone who lifts is more jacked/bigger/shredded than me that I end up feeling bad about myself.

I'm slowly developing a belly and my arms/shoulders are shrinking which doesn't help because my diets all over the place too.

To put things into perspective imagine my avi with an extra 10lbs of fat/bloat. That's pretty much how I look now, a complete sack of chit.

Any other brahs in the same position?

How many years have you been lifting? What changed in the past couple months to make you stop? Did you get busy with other things, burn out, etc? If you're feeling like chit you know what you need to do. You can get it back anytime you want. Maybe change up your routine/program and do something different.

Good luck

Some days I can have an amazing workout and smash PR's, but today felt like a complete waste of time.

You are right. Consistency is the most undervalued tool in the BB toolbox. At least train.
When trying something, try it for a good while to convince yourself of your own data.
Worrying about "changing it up" or "should I even go" is far less valuable than doing the same thing you've done to get you where you are in the gym. I stand by that, but I am mid 30's and find myself doing 1-2 year stints at a time in the gym.

Go whether you feel like it or not. JUST GO.

As was said above, let the iron take over.

Lets put it this way, if you dont go you are going to get fatter and lose even more muscle.

Than you will wake up one day and be 50lbs over weight.

After the advice of this forum I am now down 27lbs since the beginning of the year. I want to do another 25-30lbs and get super lean.

DO IT.

Well sometimes you need a break, just don't let yourself slip too long. I just keep my workouts brief nowadays, 30-45 minutes top. Maybe ill get that fire to build once more but i've basically built my goal physique and other things in life take priority sometimes. The important thing is to rememer why you are doing it in the first place and if that reason continues to bring you joy, if not then utilize that time doing something else active that brings you joy.

Discipline beats motivation any day.

Anyways I have bad days too, I had a chit bench session some time ago, it happens.
If I fail a lift it usually fuels my motivation to try again harder next time. It's a process, play the long game. You don't fail if you don't stop trying.

Well didn't you mention that you no longer pursue women seriously because you can just bang escorts? Could it be that women were your original motivation for lifting, and now that you have them on paid tap that motivation is gone?

If true, I can say that my lifting experience became much more enjoyable when I started doing it purely for looking better for myself.

It was years ago but I don't really train to impress sloots, I do genuinely enjoy lifting when I actually have a good workout and have a nice endorphin rush and pump going but after slacking off and seeing my physique get worse that fire inside has been fading away.

If anything I lift mainly to mogmaxx and be stronger than other men lol.

Well that's not right. When you see that pudge coming back it should ignite the fire inside and make you want to train!

Nothing wrong with mogmaxxing and being stronger, but you should be trying to mog yourself from yesterday. The key is to try to mog your past self, that way you're always improving. Before you know it, you don't even care about mogging others, and that is actually a pretty huge mog by itself srs.

Could be a good time to try something new. New program, new lifts, new gym. Gives you a change of pace, and it'll be easier to progress.

We all have bad days, if you continue to have them you might consider a scheduled time off from the gym just to recover physically and mentally. If you aren't itching get back there a few days in then get your blood tested. Srs.

There are good days and bad days so don't dwell on bad ones too much for too long.

Step back a little and re-check your priorities. Too much focus on one thing sometimes makes you burn out. Life has many phases, so try to listen to and follow your heart not mind once in a while.

You don't have to quit but just slow down a bit. There would be also many great things other than lifting weights in your long fulfilling life ahead. All you need to do is just to remember that.

You will be fine, Good luck.
