What Do You Wish You Knew When You Were Younger

Hard work isn’t everything, it’s who you know a lot of the time.

Buying the newest thing (following trends) is dumb 90% of the time.

No one is loyal, not even family members.

Taking care of your body and finances are the most important thing.

Came in to post this. I had Tiger Mom-style Indian parents that beat into me that academics were the key to success. That's all a bunch of bullchit. Yeah, you have to be competent in Corporate America, but the bar for being "smart enough" is absurdly low. People-skills and basically being a kiss ass who will bend over backwards for the person further up the ladder than you gets you ahead, not brains.

I guess the only other thing I'll add is that professional success is overrated. Yeah, having money is nice and gives you optionality, but if you're such a boring person that you can't do anything with that money/optionality, what was the point of achieving it in the first place? If you love what you do and do it for that reason, that's one thing, but the mentality of "I"ll get rich first and figure out what I like later" is a recipe for disaster.

I agree. Money is needed but I never want to be that guy who needs to achieve things in my “career” so my coworkers can pat me on the back.

Don’t waste time thinking what a woman wants or is feeling. You’ll drive yourself in circles. Just focus on knowing yourself, being yourself, and learning to be resolute in what you do.

I wish I knew what bitcoin, dogecoin, and certain stocks would do in the future and when. Like instead of looking at past data, be able to see the future data.

I wish some time before I was 18 I figured out that it would be better to be an Olympic weight lifter than a bodybuilder, and train for the Olympics that were held when I was 25.

Things that anyone would tell a younger self:

- The winning lottery numbers for $millions is A B C D E F G

- Invest in Bitcoin early

Things that I'd tell myself that are particular to me:

- Don't delete and then overwrite your dogecoin wallet, back it up dangit

- Don't invest in penny stocks

- Don't waste time on X Y Z women for relationships, and avoid banging A B C, always wrap it up - probably would not have gotten HSV1 on my genitals if I avoided specific scenarios, still don't really know how/when I got it though. Also would've prevented an abortion that occurred.

- Get your wisdom teeth removed sooner. It's not that bad. Letting it go will leave impressions behind your back molars.

Things that I'd tell anyone younger:

- Never let yourself get too drunk to blackout. Getting too drunk is never cool, never worth it, and always deemed unattractive to everyone. Set hard limits on alcohol and stick to them.

- After a break up, no matter the circumstances, take a long break and enjoy the freedoms associated with being alone, enjoy your friends, your family, your hobbies. Don't get desperate and try to jump into the next thing ASAP.

- Get physical and workout often. Don't eat sloppy every day. Never allow yourself to get 20%+ bodyfat, ever.

- Don't smoke tobacco.
