Anyone use ipad as a laptop replacement?
Need to upgrade my macbook air from 2017, which still runs great tbh.
Was thinking either another macbook or an ipad

IPAD is not there yet for replacing laptops. You could use it for basic web browsing, note taking, word documents but anything else would be better on a laptop.
I got the IPAD PRO 12.9 and it is awesome for basic tasks but can’t see it replacing my MacBook yet. Probably another 3 years for that

I have an ipad pro 12.9 as well. And will be getting the new macbook pro that comes out in the next month or so as well.
Ipad is good, and I use it at work most of the time. But macbook is way better. You can't even get ad block on an ipad. So if you watch youtube you'll have to watch the gay ads. That alone is reason enough for me to stick with a real laptop.

What is your budget?
Wait a month, I think the new M1X MacBook Pros are coming out. Those are going to be amazing but probably around $2kish.
If your budget is around $1000, the iPad Pro should be good enough. When my laptop died, I used an iPad for a replacement for a month before I got a new laptop. It worked better than I thought, but I had trouble adjusting to its multitasking system and the fact I couldn't just download any programs off the internet.
