Do Samsung Tablets and Phones get slower with time?

I have an iphone 6s plus I use for music, a 2012 macbook pro, a 5th gen ipad, and a 2017 ipod touch, all of these are not "fast" but they dam sure are not slow by any means. Some are even faster than 2021 products.

Recetly switched to S21 Ultra and Tab S7+, I was wondering If I can expect these to last 5 years at least without becoming slow ?

Should I just get the M1 Ipad?

I noticed my Android phones were always getting slow and dying quick after a couple of years so I switched and bought an iPhone last year

Will report back in 3 years with answer

So far no freezing or glitching like the Android

I have an s10+ that I got in early 2019. It's just as fast as ever and it's the first phone I feel like I can keep and be content with if it wasn't missing some key tech like improved display refresh rate and camera. Most amazing phone I've ever had.

Buys cheap Huawei android and compares it with $1000 iPhone.

If you had a top tier Samsung you wouldn't have had an issue.

My androids don't ever get slower, but at 2-3 years the battery starts not lasting as long. Right now I've had my phone about 3 years and once the battery hits 20% it goes to 0% in just a few minutes.

android never crashes and never slows down not even cheap ones.

apple purposely slows your phone so you are forced to buy a new one just reflect on that alone.

The company doesn't inherently slow down the devices directly, but it can feel slower over time due to things like:

- Overall quality of devices increases over times, causing higher minimum/recommended requirements for applications/software
- Current Applications, or even operating systems, with higher requirements getting pushed to older devices just to keep them modernized
- Over time numerous recharge cycles and disk reads have occurred, causing shorter battery lives and slower storage read/write speeds, respectively

Also some phone "upgrades" actually lower the resolution of the screen, so it's possible for some applications/software to be built intended for the lower resolutions, but then has to be upscaled to a higher resolution (like 4K) on an older device which runs with a higher native resolution display, causing higher performance cost on the older device.

Oh right. Yeah I forgot to say this. My battery is nowhere as bad as yours but it's definitely down maybe 15% or 20% after the 3 years.

I bought a S10+ in 2019 just like you and my battery is still "fresh". Charge holds just like the first day I got it. Do you use the 80/30 rule when charging your phone or do you always charge it up to 100%?

It makes a difference over time.

I am on an S9+ and just now starting with the battery issues, so I'd say that is pretty solid. 3.5 years or so.

my iphone 7 was doing the same and i'd had it for about 3 yrs.
I backed it up then reset it and restored backup.
now it's almost like new.

also it has a lot more storage on it now.
i wasn't using close to my max storage but it was reporting I was out of data.

I have an iPhone 8 plus from 2018 and did not notice and slowing down of it TBH - i just got a new phone because the battery was getting shyt

Both of mine are the same. The thing I never do is update anything, and I do most chit on brave browser rather than use a specific app.
My cell is a Samsung Galaxy S3. And the tablet that I normally misc on and internet is a Tab-A. It was under 200 bucks.
The tablet I like. The phone has always sucked. Works fine, decent camera for it's time but always had a chitty battery life compared to the Nokia I had before it.

The other thing I do is block access to updates and internet for a bunch of bullchit I don't use.
