Been a week. He was in a medical coma for a couple weeks before that. Leukemia and other complications. I feel broken. I’ve been in a downhill spiral since he got super sick. He had cancer before and beat it and now this. Job, gf, health, everything has gone to sht the last month bc I’m all fked up. Anyone had this happen? How’d you get through it

Sorry hear this brother.

I have lost some loved ones and a good friend, most recently in 2020.

It's tough. Reaching out (even if only on the misc) is a good place to start if you are unsure of what to do about how you feel. Just talking and venting can help you begin to workout your feelings.

Rip to your friend.
The closer we approach the uncertainty of life's ending the more we wish to trade all of the things we have acquired in exchange for all of the things we have lost: wealth for youth, knowledge for fresh curiosity, resignation for hope. We'd trade our wisdom for new experiences, but it is wisdom that will teach us that at the end of the road the only new experience is death.

Sorry bro. It’s rough I know. Reach out to your mutual friends and share your memories of him with them. Every memory you have just lay it out there. They will share them with you as well. Don’t let your best friend disappear without a trace. Live for him.

Condolences OP.

Has not happened to me so I cannot give you much advice. Although, I bet he would want you to be happy and live your best life brother. Keep him in your memories and give it your best shot.

My best friend died too... actually both my best friends died within two years of one another.

Not going to lie bro it's going to fuarking hurt... It drove me crazy for a little bit and sometimes your best friend can be closer than family. It just doesn't seem fair and you feel like nobody understands, also people will think you are trying to get a sympathy card when you say your best friend passed away which will piss you off too, seeing that all the sl00ts on fb always call every dead person their "best friend". It's just so painful and infuriating and alienating, a terrible thing to go through and I had to go through it, talk to my other best friend about it to get through it ... then watch him pass away. If you feel alone and need someone to talk to send me a message brah srs. It's not going to be easy for a while.

Thanks bros. I’m too tired and empty to respond to specifics but your words are encouraging. Thank you.

Did he take the vax (seriously want to know because I've heard blood cancer may be one of the adverse reactions --- pretty much any disease to do with blood vessels)?

Anyway, 2 years ago I went with my best friend and his wife to the beach with all our friends. In the car ride they told me she was pregnant with their first and they're like you're gonna be an uncle (knew this kunt since 10 years old was basically like a brother to me)! Full happy chit.

Next week get a call from his step dad that he's been in a car accident and to come and visit him. I'm like lol what did the dumb kunt do now probly broke his leg or something. 1 hour later I open up the local news website and see his photo (he was a police officer). Open up the video and watched his car get fukin flipped over and torn in two because some old sloot passed out and lost control of her vehicle. After that I went from laughing it off to oh fuk man please make it. Went to visit him in ICU but he had severe brain damage and eventually passed away.

His wife was legit by his side for like 3 days, tried to kill herself, went to a mental institute, all while she was pregnant. Visited her, consoled her, drove her parents to come visit her and did all I could to help, thankfully she's ok now and their son is a happy healthy 2 year old.

It's crazy chit man how you can lose someone in an instant, cherish your family and friends bros.

Hang in there brah. It takes time but it gets easier.

I lost two of my best friends in less than a year. Going outside, getting a good walk in out in nature done me a lot of good.

Sorry to hear this man. My biggest advice would be just to communicate with work/gf/friends/family and let them know how you feel and allow you to take some time for yourself but also try to keep some routine in place and do make time to see those people and get into work.

You'll get through this man. Here for you

It's going to take some time to come to terms with the loss and a new normal.

Some practical advice for helping to get through this is going to sound like some captain obvious stuff, but there are some things that can tend to slip when you're going through something like this, so my advice is:

1. Maintain a regular sleep schedule. Irregular sleep is going to impact your already devastated emotional state.
2. Make sure you're eating enough. Frequent and prolonged hunger is going to make you feel like **** physically, which is going to feel like it's your emotional state that is causing the added misery.
3. Maintain your grooming. If what you see in the mirror starts reflecting what you feel inside you're not going to like it.

Like I said this is all obvious stuff but they tend to get neglected when we're really going through a tough time like this.

Stay strong bro and do what the other moscer suggested and share stories about him with other friends. That's good advice.

Yeah, kind of the same. I know a lot of people and it's debatable if I would consider them friends or acquaintances.
