The mob was only part of the story. The guy who started it was not a mobster, the mob got involved after the first initial scam years, and after the mob capo that was associated with Jerry died the scam went to non mobster criminals. Also, the capo's widow believes that the mob snitched on Jerry and the scam.

Yea, Uncle Jerry. He worked for the place printed the pieces and that's how he got them.

I always assumed those things like McDonald's Monopolw games had to be largely rigged one way or the other. I mean weren't there only ever a small handful of potential big winners Nyway? Out of millions of orders of that chit being sold, having like 10 supposed big winners or whatever doesn't mean much. I thought it was pretty ridiculous even as a kid. And how hard would it be for a corporation like McDonald's to do an inside job where they rig it to make sure most of the significant winnings mysterly go to random members of their family/people they are connected to? Seemed ridiculous to me even as a kid when they first started doing it back in the 90's.

Even the general concept itself was a scam. Brb supposedly have a dozen or so legit big prizes among the endless sea of customers. Brb all I've ever heard about people "winning" is a free order of fries/free drink or some chit to lure them back to buy more chit at the store. As much of a corny gimmick as when they sell gas "McRib" sandwiches or whatever for a month or two a year to trick people into thinking it's somehow special even though there are gas stations with better "rib" sanwiches lol.

I mean if you watched the video I posted it explains how they did it.

But if it wasn't rigged by the mob actual people would have won.
