Any Cyber security brahs in here?

Looking for feedback from any miscers who work/have worked in cyber security.

I've worked in the utility industry for about 6 years in the engineering space and I was thinking about switching over to cyber security. There is a SOC position that is opening up in my company and I think it would be a good opportunity to make a move into the cs field. In my current industry, there are only a few companies to work for. I think with cyber security, there are a lot more opportunities available if I want to eventually move away from my current state. I appreciate any feedback, thanks.

It's a pretty hot field. It's not for everybody though. You have to really know a lot about a lot of things (IT related). SOC is probably not too bad because you can escalate if it's something beyond your capability.

I think RealClout is in a high level position in that field.

Thanks for the info! I do have some experience as a former sys admin. I would just have to hit the books and re-learn some of the material.
