title, I heard about him long ago, but decided to check it out recently. I kinda like it, the podcasts format is a novelty to me.

I listen to Rogan pretty regularly. Hes popular for a few reasons imo:
Good conversationalist
Broad Reach of topics-Comedy, Science, Health and Fitness, Politics, etc
He stands pretty middle of the line on most things, so gets both sides of the isle (and criticism as well)
Isnt afraid to call people out a little bit
Was an OG podcaster, so has exposure

He tends to be a bit of a yes man on a lot of things, but its understandable considering heres there to have a conversation with people, not necessarily grill them. He does a good job ssometimes of pushing back against BS and asking hard questions. He also has a habit of repeating the same **** over and over again sometimes.

Overall hes a decent dude, has a broad breadth of knowledge, is a critical thinker... and is entertaining.

He's easy to listen to and sometimes has interesting topics.

Used to listen to him often when he was still on youtube.
He had a lot of guests on I’m a fan of and I drive a ton so it helped with my trips.

He has 1500 episodes. No other podcaster has had such high output as him over time, both in consistency and length

In addition he brings in other interesting people with some kind of status, credibility, or expertise in his episodes

This pretty much sums it up. Due to such a broad range of guests lots of different listeners get exposed to it and may decide they like his approach and check out other episodes. Plus the long form allows for depths that you can’t get anywhere else. In a world that takes a “skim the surface” approach to topics more and more each day, the depth offered in these podcasts is a welcome change to people who want to actually learn a lot and analyze subjects in more detail. And his main drawback is being repetitive at times, but new listeners won’t realize he’s talked about that topic or event 50 times in the past so it doesn’t turn off new listeners, and doesn’t turn off fans because it’s still worth the time spent listening. Finally, I think Jamie is somewhat under-appreciated as far as what he brings to the table. With him there the conversation can continue to flow naturally while he verifies or debunks statements in question so listeners can feel that they are taking away the most accurate understanding of the topics being discussed.
