Thought I knew what hate was, I don't. Story no pics.

Haven't spoken to my dad in years, but speak to my mom every week. He used to beat her, me, and my sisters. He's still with my mom and I love her to death. About 10 years ago when I grew up I beat his ass and now we have matching scars on our lips and I felt bad about it for a while.

Well I got a call from my mom about 6 hours ago asking me not to talk **** on my dad and just listen. She was so shaken she could barely speak, he was being air lifted to a hospital. He's okay, but it made me think about how I've hated him for so long but when I thought he might be gone how it affected others I really was worried.

Don't let hate guide you bros. Once it comes to your face, you see how stupid it is. I thought I hated my father but I'm going to call him as soon as I can. I'm lucky I have the opportunity to do that.

You might think you hate but it might just be anger, think about it and try and fix it before it's too late bros.

Dude that would take a pretty big apology and absolute no violence on his part, while actively working to be a better person for me to forgive beating my mom, sisters or myself.

Forgiveness is great assuming they acknowledge and are actively correcting their wrongs.

On the flip side, I know people who took this stance, kept extremely toxic people in their lives and had their lives destroyed. Some people are just bad, and it's best to excise them from your life like a malignant cancerous tumor.

Why is she still with him, OP? Was he, like, an alcoholic that sobered up and confronted his demons? How does one beat their family and come back from that?

Until you've been there it's hard to understand, but I agree from the outside. I chose to isolate as well as one of my sisters. I also chose to get retribution when I was an adult at 21 and didn't feel good about it. Thought I hated him and thought he was gonna die today and was worried. I feel like a lefty or a far right conservative for locking my jaw like a pit bull and not looking at everything around me and not taking everything in.

I agree to an extent. I remember crawling into our pantry to get away from him but he drug me out. But when he is in pain not actually dieing I still felt bad for him and talked to him until the Dr's took him away. Don't let anger stop you from doing the right thing. We all hurt and go through ****ty situations and need people we care about to help us through it.

If you have to keep them around just agree with what they want. Then when it goes south for them try and tell them why it went south and if they don't learn the first time dislocate yourself from them.

Idk honestly, big dick? At least I'm here. I try to be better than him and a good person. But I have hurt people but I try to help people rather than hurt them. But I'm really not a good person I never volunteer and haven't donated money to foundations in a few years.

And what if they steal from you? What if they are running with crowds who put people in holes? What if you become a suspect of a crime because you know them? Lawyers aren't cheap. My point is, sometimes it's just best to get rid of people from your life.

I know you would bro. He doesn't need that force though bro. Got off the phone a little while ago.

He needed that call he was scared, lonely and drugged up. New surroundings and not knowing what's wrong is scary. Don't wish that on anyone. Thought I hated him but worried about him and others who worry about him, we should all rethink our hate and think about being in that position.

You dont have to let the hate consume you, that’s power over you, understand that. You can forgive and move on though, you don’t have to go back to that person and be all as well. He beat you, your sisters, and your mom(still beating?). That’s a no from me, dawg. Would never have a functioning relationship with that arsehole again.
