Article about FA women (long)
https://www.theguardian.com/lifeands...tary-celibates
Read the whole article if you have time, otherwise here are some snippets:
-Male incels bad, female incels understandable
-Women don't want ONSs and hookups, would rather a relationship because casual sex is unfulfilling
-Beauty standards, etc etc
-Women coping with being alone through blogs and internet communities for other FA women
-These women are single because men are not trying hard enough to get the women they aren't attracted to in the first place. "men don't approach me"
-Men don't feel like they are needed and have no role to play if women can financially provide for themselves
The article is a lot on the feminist-bull**** persuasion, but the issue still needs consideration. In my opinion this is all because of a lack of proper dialogue between the genders. Bad gender relations is something that needs to be addressed if we are going to see any improvement in this avenue of society. Women dismiss male incels as ignorant misogynists who feel entitled to free casual sex; Men dismiss female FAs because they're just too picky and can get dick any time they want. Everyone takes these issues as face value rather than trying to come to a mutual understanding of one another's wants and needs.
I don't see that male FAs are entitled to sex, rather they can't understand or navigate what women say vs what they do; a majority of the mgtow/redpill content I see is calling women out on double standards and contradicting actions. For instance when a woman says she hates jerks and wants a nice guy, then proceeds to reject the next 100 nice guys she meets. Male FAs also need to understand that men are not women; getting dick any time is not going to satiate her. A lot of guys come off as creepy and autistic as all fuk, putting women off all the more. I'm not seeing a lot of desire for understanding or consideration of the other side of the line in the sand. Men are rational-beings and women are emotional-beings. Men are from Mars, women are from Venus.

But it is not just incel men who struggle to find sexual connections in the modern world. Some young women are turning to online “femcel” spaces to discuss the challenges they face as involuntary celibates.
Theirs is a non-violent resistance. Rather than blaming the opposite sex for their unhappiness, as some of their male counterparts do,femcels tend to believe their own “ugliness” is the root cause of their loneliness. Posting anonymously on platforms they have designed for themselves, they argue that they are invisible due to their abnormal appearance, and that our beauty-centric, misogynistic culture prevents them from being accepted. There is anger and open grappling with self-esteem, but no extreme hatred and no sense of entitlement within the community.
Caitlin, 39, doesn’t call herself a femcel, but she hasn’t had sex for almost eight years and doesn’t think she will find another sexual partner. “I’m not conventionally attractiveand I never get approached by men,” she says. “They don’t look at me. I’ve had therapy to try to address these issues, but dating feels like a barren wasteland. It’s worse as I get older, because I’ve missed that short window to marry and have a family.”
Although Caitlin is not morally opposed to casual sex, it is not an experience that feels right for her. She has had two short-term relationships, which ended in heartbreak. There is a popular notion among incel communities – and even in wider society – that women are privileged because they can get sex at any time. Not only is that untrue, as many women will testify, but also, as Caitlin points out, not all sex is enjoyable. “Generally, men who aren’t in a relationship with you don’t make it a pleasurable experience,” she says.“The risk of rejection afterwards is high, which makes the sex even less enjoyable. As a woman, you want to be desired, not treated like a piece of meat.”
Appearance-based discrimination, termed “lookism” by femcel communities, is not the only reason that some women struggle to find a sexual partner. The risk of male violence has always been a concern, but the semi-anonymous nature of app-based dating has increased these fears for many women.
Jane, 49, has been single for eight years and celibate for five. Although she would love to have a sex life, she is not prepared to compromise her principles by seeking a casual relationship with someone she has just met online. “I don’t want to invite someone I don’t know into my home, as you never know the risks.”She was once followed home by a man after their date. “I saw his car behind me and he said he was curious about where I lived. It made me extremely uncomfortable.”
In addition to safety concerns, Jane says apps make it hard to find the type of connection she is looking for. While this is also true for men, she believes they tend to be more comfortable with the “fast-food”, casual-sex nature of online dating.Dishonesty is a common theme; she says it is impossible to build trust with a man who lies online. “Pictures will be 10 years old, or not an accurate representation of the person,” she says. “I look for men who take care of themselves physically, who are emotionally available, open and honest. You can’t see that on a profile.”
Since giving up on apps, Jane has stayed active through a walking group and has tried many other activities in the past few years. “I meet a lot of great women, but I never meet single men at classes or events. It’s hard to meet men who share your interests.”
Mary also refuses to use dating apps, due to the number of married men seeking affairs and the difficulties she has in building connections.“The #MeToo movement was extremely important, but, at the same time, it created polarisation in society,” she says. She believes that, as men attempt to “relearn” the best ways to approach women so that they feel safe and comfortable, it can discourage some from making a connection at all. “It’s like nobody knows how to date any more and the fast-paced culture of apps means nobody has the patience to get to know someone.” She says the men she encounters are almost always looking for someone younger than themselves.
Elaine, 37, who has been celibate for five years, feels her successful career has played a role in her dating difficulties.“Men don’t like the fact I don’t cook or clean, even though I pay for someone to do both jobs,” she says. “The stereotype of male hunter-gatherer remains quite prevalent and at times I think they feel they don’t have a role.”Like other women, she is seeking an intellectual equal and is not interested in finding someone who will take care of her. “If you don’t fit in a Barbie box and do all the domestic duties, it can be quite upsetting for some men.”
Yvonne, 28, recognises the same traditional values in men her age. Despite numerous attempts at dating on and offline, she has never had a relationship and doesn’t engage in casual sex. “I don’t necessarily need to be with a man who has a degree, but I want to meet someone who is intellectually curious, with the same values,” she says. “I think men can be intimidated by education and career success. In online dating especially, it always seems to come down to appearance only. I even know people who get professional pictures done as they know looks will be the first thing men see. As a Black woman, this can be especially hard, as even Black men seem to prioritise light-skinned women.”
Femcels and women who struggle to find relationships are sometimes accused of misandry, especially by male incels. Yvonne counters that any resentment women feel is more likely to be turned inwards.“The biggest difference between men and women seems to be that men feel entitled to sex and relationships, so it’s the fault of women when they can’t get it,” says Yvonne. “Women seem to internalise the issues and be more likely to blame themselves.”
It is something that Caitlin is exploring. “I’m trying to become more positive about finding alternatives to a sexual relationship,” she says. As well as channelling energy into building her self-esteem, she is trying new activities and communicating with other women.“Of course, not all male incels are involved in extremist online forums, but those that do are feeding off their hatred of women, viewing us as possessions or something to conquer,” she says. “Involuntary celibate women seem to be handling their anger and hurt in a more evolved way, throwing themselves into work, life and healthy communities where single life is celebrated. I hope it can inspire me to feel more confident in my own situation.”

Nothing shocking.
The percentage of people who are actively "sleeping around" isn't all that high and decreases with age.
Dating apps seem to be poisonous overall with a minority of men getting most of the attention from women. A lot of men on the apps feel "cheated" because they don't get matches as often as women who are roughly their equal in attractiveness. A lot of women just avoid the apps because they haven't found the apps helpful to finding relationships vs. casual sex.
Some guys are mad because it seems to them that "everyone else" is having sex and they are getting left out. Meanwhile for most women most of the time sex with a random isn't some big win, may or may not be any fun, and might even leave you feeling worse.
And on top of that people don't mix much IRL because everyone has to work and when not working needs time for chores/maintenance and finds it is much easier to just stay home.
I wonder if anyone has tried running an interests centered forum w/membership and some kind of background check? Not specifically just for finding a romantic connection, but to find other people who like things that you like and who are at least verified to be generally what they claim to be.
Wouldn't even have to use real names for user name, but profiles w/general location, age, gender, education, criminal stuff...users could grant profile access to other users.
It would be nice to know you are [best as can be verified] talking to a 30-something gal from Ireland, or a 40-ish man from Kentucky vs. a third world scammer or bot.

These women don't want casual sex (totally fair) and think the risk of heartbreak/effort required is too high when seeking the quality of men they desire?

I have a couple female friends that could be called femcels. They're not ugly tho or fukups, they've had a mix of bad luck in previous relationships, wich has left them scared and with a low grade PTSD or are either too picky. I mean both sexes are fuked, women are crazy on the one side but men are just as crazy too. I mean imagine being a female and dating your avg miscer (an autist superficial whore maxer obsessed with porn and raised by TV)

It was pretty lol in the article how the one woman said she doesn't cook or clean or take care of a house ("I pay people do to that for me") yet also speaks about men not fulfilling their gendered roles in relationships

Hahaha what utter garbage. So predictable all of the statements. I hate to break it to them, but life isn't always fair so we must play our cards as best we can. Try and have fun and enjoy. We are floating around in space on a big rock after all. Honestly I see lots of single professional women at work, and it's sad. They let the family building phase slip past them. They also will not lower their standards. As much as they don't like to hear it, they made the wrong choices in life for what makes them truly happy. As if taking kids to the beach for a walk and a picnic wouldn't shiiit all over any professionals job.

Awww, poor ladies can’t find a ”good” guy. I haven’t heard this one before.
Not sure who’s more delusional, beta incels or these sloots who complain about the very men they choose to get in bed with and then cry.

I know that on misc sloots gonna sloot, but IDK that there are really that many women who are willing and able to sleep around a lot. Could be generational I guess.

Before my unplanned cross country move + COVID I was looking into recreational social groups that did events and meet ups to try meeting people in person, maybe a few times so you could get to know each other a little.
ETA: For those who seem mad at single women- just because someone is single now doesn't mean that they never had a relationship before, or have crazy standards.

It would be nice to know you are [best as can be verified] talking to a 30-something gal from Ireland, or a 40-ish man from Kentucky vs. a third world scammer or bot.

if you're a 5, you only see 4-6. or if you're a 7, you would only see 6-8/10.

of course the one article sympathetic towards incels and not demonizing them is about femcels.
also lol. Would love to see them go on tinder and get tons of matches. and if you call out their hypocrisy and say they aren't incel, they will just say something like "yes but it's not Chad who I'm matching with so I am incel. This is the same as men getting 0.1% match rates (or worse!)".

i noticed almost all the ages were older.
in reality, most of these women DID date someone who was above their looksmatch and it broke off for whatever reason. now they still feel that they should have that type of guy + with the emotional maturity and wisdom too.
something they didn't mention is that women as they get older esp don't bring anything to the table. Women who are in 30s 40s talk about the same exact things younger women talk about but its no longer relevant to their age AND they can't bear children (prob the most important factor).
Im always shocked by women who have options but simply ignore them for their dream guy. Men (like on the misc majority) are the opposite GET WHATEVER BISH they can and simply re-label her as beautiful sweetheart. This is actually proven in statistics as well.

See how there's still guys in the picture for these ladies? "Men don't like that I won't cook", "men don't like my education", etc. Whatever, they're still talking to men.
There are ZERO women in the picture for the average incel. ZERO. Speaking for myself, I have no options at work. I have no female friends within 2000 miles. I have no female friends-of-friends, because all my male brahs are also incels without any hope. I have no options on online dating.
Women just don't get socially cut off the way low-status men do.
