I've taken type 2 collagen on and off for the last 3-4 years or so. Type 2 specifically is good for joints (which I think might be more abundant in chicken) and types 1 and 3 are more prevalent in beef and benefits are more for your hair and nails. I had some meniscus issues after having it cleaned up and type 2 collagen made a bigger impact than anything in recovery.

Also been taking bone marrow, liver, bone, and trachea supplements and those have also had a big impact. Feel like the marrow and bone help joints, but also over the course of several months I had a few small cavities close up too. I like this brand:

I don't understand why you can't just boil a chicken every week and drink the soup.

If you notice after making chicken stock, the soup becomes gelatinous when refrigerated. There's your collagen. You can scoop off the solidifed fat if you want when it's cold too.

Buy a whole chicken. Cook in water with bay leaf, some pepper, salt until the meat turns into mush. Strain the soup, cool, and enjoy.

Same chit, but cheaper, easier, and tastier.

is it complete protein? idk, i use to drink knox gelatin.. not sure what it did, gotta try it again

What animal is Knox gelatin made from?
Knox Gelatin Nutrition and Uses
It is always produced from animal- or fish-based sources. It's usually made from pork bones and skin. You may already be aware that gelatin is the main ingredient in Jell-O. However, gelatin is a very versatile food additive.

Does anyone put any stock into the supplements for sale here? I've looked at them before but not convinced.

>boil a chicken
>easier than mixing some powder into something

pick one

srs tho, that’s probably good advice, I’m sure it would be better, but I don’t really cook much and not wanting to add a big hassle, the beef gelatin just looked like something quick and easy I could add to my daily stack that could add benefits so giving it a shot

I mean......are you lacking it to require a supplement?

Could just use bone broth? I get that in quarts and just add it to soup or ramen with some eggs and bacon......

But I also take fish oil, d3, and coconut oil gelcaps.......just to make sure.....

Edit: Could stare at havoc HTC threads and maybe get some reverse osmosis? Look at the fat......be the fat......become one with the fat.....

It's basically concentrated food, not really anything like an extracted compound or manufactured supplement tho.

my body doesn’t make beef gelatin naturally

used to drink some bone broth daily for awhile but got out of the habit, the gelatin seems like more convenient option to get some similar benefits since i can just order the powder easily and mix some into drinks etc daily

hehe =] pretty sure the gelatins really LTC actually, 0 fat, 9g protein/tablespoon

no just eat some high quality meat and cartilage and bone marrow regularly. buy meat on the bone at the butcher and gnaw on it like a caveman.
