Gold vs Crypto (srs)

what makes crypto so valuable? I know its finite but its also intagible. I cannot feel or touch it. If the internet goes down, it ceases to exist. It has no uses outside of being a mthod of payment. Gold on the other hand is tangible, finite, has uses outside of currency, and will continue to exist no matter what state the world is in. Misc plz enlighten me srs

Crypto is only valuable right now because of hype. Gold on the other can be used in electronics because it doesn't decay as easily as other metals and has superior conductivity. Even though gold mining destroys the environment, it destroys it much less than crypto because you can reuse gold.
