Anyone ever get a $600 MAACO paint job?

Those cheap ass $600 paint jobs

Im reading they arent perfect, but not horrible.

Kinda dont like the color of my truck, and for $600 its worth making it a nicer color

This isnt my truck but its exactly this color



Thoughts? Would rather have this color

Had a buddy that use them for multiple cars.

He would do the prep [bondo, sand, degrease) and send it them them.

Actually turned out really well tbh

Pro tip if you truly want to go to Maaco for a paint job.

Do all of the old paint removal, metal prep, and primering yourself, then go to Maaco. It'll come out much better that way.

A former co-worker of mine did that and the paint job wasn't actually bad, though I wouldn't do it myself with my cars.

Like others said it's only ok if you do all of the prep work yourself, years ago I knew someone flipping cars that used to do it all the time. Then again I still remember a high school friend that brought his RX7 there and they painted over the 3 bugs that he got on the front bumper driving there lol.

I didn't know they were still around.

Maaco is a chain paint shop so just like how you go to Olive Garden some locations are good and some are chit, the same could be said about Maaco.

read reviews on the location you will take it to and maybe inspect work in progress or finished cars

I took my old car to a shop once and saw they just painted cars after rolling in, no prep, spiderweb cracking as the paint cured and everything lol so very dependent on location and boss in charge

Auto body work is incredibly skilled; it takes 50+ hours to properly prep a 2 door car and that's assuming you're not looking for show quality

If you do all the prep work, it'll look good.

Bring it there already wet sanded and as clean as possible. I would tape off around the windshield and anywhere else that might be tricky and let them cover the big stuff.

Consider the price of automotive paint it's not a bad deal but prep it yourself. Don't expect perfection. Overspray and runs is probably going to be a lot. Generally speaking this is for cars that are in bad shape. Just want it to look presentable.

wouldn't be shocked if it's$1,000 all said and done with add-ons, but still might be wroth it

I had my 2000 Celica painted by them. They did an alright job; worth the cost. I think if it's just an every day basic car, sure why not. There were a few drips on the paint, that was about it. I would not change the paint of the car; just respray the same color.
Here is a pic of my Celica after being painted in 2013 (rip, was a great 1st car). They also later fixed a door that I scraped against a pole, that they did almost near perfect even though it almost cost as much as when I got the whole car done, lol.

This. Nothing worse than paint coming off in big flakes or clearcoat coming off in sheets. If it's a daily driver and you don't care it would be fine, but if it's something you care about I'd look elsewhere.

$600 wouldn’t cover the cost of the paint,reducer ,and hardener in Canada . Paint it yourself if your trying to save money . Build a makeshift booth

We have trade learning shops in the local schools that will do it for the cost of materials, if you're not happy the teacher makes them fix it. Had an IROC-Z done for like $350. Bonus was that I let them keep it over the winter so I didn't pay for storage lol.

For tree fiddy the paint was shiny and I was happy:
