Sony Estimated to Have Sold Twice as Many PS5 Consoles as Xbox Series Globally
Recent industry data estimates that Sony has told twice as many PlayStation 5 consoles as Microsoft has sold Xbox Series X|S consoles worldwide.
This new data comes from research firm Ampere Analysis. According to a new console insight from the firm, Sony has reportedly sold through roughly 12.8 million PlayStation 5 units (disc and digital models combined) globally as of September, whereas Microsoft is said to have only sold through 6.7 million of its Xbox Series family (Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S combined).

Guess Jay couldn't have been more wrong when he said you could easily get a PS5 at launch since there would be no demand due to "Sony being so bad" or recently talking about how bad Sony is doing with the PS5 and "stumbling" the launch. I have a ps5 i wish i could get xbox series x too. What is your point each console has sold the minute it hits retail shelves and online stores. The only thing you are implying is that sony was able to make more consoles.

Numbers don't matter tho now. Forza and halo are out and the Xbox hype train is chugging full steam....esp since halo actually turned out to be good. Ain't no one thinking about Playstation unless they wanna sit on their couch alone while all their boys are playing halo and forza (for free).
But I guess another play thru of Returnal or ratchet and clank is fun

Xbox has always been very popular in America and far less popular worldwide. This isn't new though, I was always impressed coming to American forums like the misc and seeing the popularity of Xbox, while 90% of people where I live and friends from other Non-USA countries had Playstations.
You guys need to understand, because many of your local friends have an Xbox it will make you think that's how it is worldwide but it's quite the opposite.
The ps5 is definitely harder to purchase than the series X right now. The few Xbox friends where I live were already able to buy theirs while the ps5 homeaus like myself are still struggling to get our ps5. It's annoying, I have one close friend who got a series X for himself and an S for his kid months ago with no issue.
