Tales of Arise

Anyone play this yet, thots? I loved the chit out of Vesperia and all those Xbox 360 JRPGs.

Game was phenomenal and was my personal Game of The Year.

The combat was incredible, it was on rails enough that it was easy to follow. Solid story, compelling enemies.

I recommend turning the difficulty up to at least "Veteran" I think it was, Normal is too easy.

its very good

combat is like a deeper faster paced ff7R

story is a nothing too special but the connection with the characters is great..

its on sale on steam right now. tempted to pull the trigger on it but gonna hold off. i would still like to play some of the other tales games before I buy it. maybe there will be a deal come xmas. still rather not pay $60 for a game unless it is something that is completely mindblowing.

I didn't play Arise yet but my personnal favorite is Berseria, I got over 200 hours on it. I recommend it.

yeah I got Berseria and heard it was the best of the series (before Arise, but I think some people still prefer Berseria).

I have Xilia 1/2, Vesperia, Symphonia and Berseria all waiting to be played .. I have Zestiria that I got as a part of a combo but I heard not so good things about it.

Just bought it on steam sale. Only tales game i ever played was zestiria (sp?) which i hated. Hopefully this ones better

Garbage JRPG. One of the worst Tales of.
Extremely boring Story, uninteresting characters except Shionne, XP scaling, unrememberable music, only 8 enemies in the game with various recolors, combat feel great first but ends up being stale.
I quit the game after the forth lord, I tortured myself but in the end it was not good.
Would not reccommend to anyone.

I think I'm about ready to drop this game .... I love it way more than berseria, and it's an improvement, been a great run so far, but after beating the 3rd boss, it's kinda starting to feel samey and I feel like the game has already played all its cards.

spongey bosses for no reason
reskinned enemy types
exploration isnt as fun or rewarding as dragon quest was

I'm just playing as alphen, and spamming his moves .. I know you can switch characters when you want, but it seems implemented for the sake of it, and even changing characters on the fly seems clunky and not really part of the "mechanics" like ff7.

The locales are great, graphics are great, characters are fun.... but not really feeling like I have an urge to go further at this point.
