War movie about defeat of US Army is now China’s biggest film ever

source:https://nypost.com/2021/11/25/war-mo...-biggest-film/

A Chinese propaganda movie depicting the defeat of the US Army has become the country’s highest-grossing film of all time.

The three-hour-long war epic, “The Battle at Lake Changjin,” has made a whopping $892 million in the communist country since it was released there on Sept. 30.

It has now surpassed the 2017 action flick “Wolf Warrior II,” which previously held the record for China’s highest-grossing movie, with $882 million in box office receipts.

As the Chinese box office is the largest in the world, “The Battle at Lake Changjin” is also now the highest-grossing film of 2021 worldwide, according to Variety.

It has even outearned the James Bond flick, “No Time To Die,” which has grossed just north of $700 million internationally.

The film is based on the Battle of Chosin Reservoir — a military campaign that occurred during the Korean War. The brutal, 17-day battle took place in late 1950, shortly after the People’s Republic of China entered the war in support of North Korea.

Against all odds, 120,000 Chinese troops managed to encircle and attack US forces and their allies. While the Americans were eventually able to break free, they were subsequently forced to evacuate the region, marking their complete withdrawal from North Korea.

“The Battle at Lake Changjin” — which cost $200 million to make — was sponsored by the Chinese government, which is said to be delighted at the success of the propaganda film.

Sounds like a good movie.

Clinton Easterwood made a ww2 movie from the Japanese perspective and it was very interesting.

They sure know how to write a fairy tale.

They’ll have to wait a good while longer until we destroy ourselves to have any sort of chance. They should stick to building more smapple stores for now.

Apparently its based on a real battle during the korean war where the numerically superior chinese forces suffered 4 times more casualties than the opposing US forces.

Against all odds? U wot m8.

LMAO it was like 120,000 Chinese vs. like 30,000 UN troops (not exclusively, but mostly American). The Chinese lost more than 50,000 and the UN troops lost less than 20,000.

It was pretty basic Chinese swarming miltary doctrine, the fact that a third of the UN troops escaped really makes it more of an impressive feat for the UN troops rather than the Chinese who just threw bodies at a fortified position, from which the UN troops ultimately escaped a full encirclement formation. Imagine unironically praising your incompetent military leadership's inability to use any strategy other than human wave.

LMAO @ this Communist revisionism srs.

I guess it's the timing. US-China relations are at a historic low with US openly supporting Taiwan (which was unheard of in the past), and contemplating boycotting the 2022 Olympics. It's like a tongue-in-cheek response from China.

Openly supporting? LMFAO U WOT M8? The US will cuck the moment Xi sends marines ashore in Taiwan and you know it. Crimea 2.0 srs. It will be the Suez Crisis of our generation.
The United States does not support Taiwan independence. Maintaining strong, unofficial relations with Taiwan is a major U.S. goal, in line with the U.S. desire to further peace and stability in Asia.

Lolwut?? It’s obviously smart for them.

They’re busy helping Americans fight among themselves, demonizing police, demonizing military, pushing feminization of males, pushing the LGBTQ agenda, pushing interracial narratives, and trying to snuff out the voice of the founding demographic while demonizing them(white males).

At the same time in their own country they are promoting a pride in their country, pride in their military, masculinization programs for the men, banning the LGBTQ agenda in media and entertainment, and promoting a strong united populace.

The trajectories of the two countries couldn’t be more different.

China has the exact same social problems as the United States because culture is global. This ship is going down with everyone aboard boyo. Propaganda doesn't work or else the Soviet Union, Nazi Germany, Imperial Japan, and every other nationalist country in the world with based propaganda would have never collapsed. You can't change the facts of reality no matter how many pretty pictures you show.

The Chinese domestic box office is absolutely massive brah. That's why P3dowood actors and production houses are constantly cucking to Emperor Xi-- because they want them China bux. The American box office grows smaller and smaller everyday srs. No one goes to the movies anymore I guess, as your comment alludes to.

I golfed with a Battle of Chosin Reservoir survivor once. He had scars from the frostbite he endured. It was like I was golfing with a legend.

China can't and won't ever produce soldiers that can endure what the Chosin survivors endured.
