Anyone here ever do a strongman competition?
I'm gonna do some local strongman contest in a couple months and have no way to really train for any of the events.
Events are power stairs, atlas stone press, frame carry, chain drag or some chit, and hammer hold. Gonna just keep drinking every night and show up and hopefully win.
What have been yalls experiences?

Anyone? Training advice? even though I'm not going to train for it.

No I’ve only competed in powerlifting.
With that said, I still think you can simulate some of the training for those events.
DB farmer’s walks for the carry event.
Obviously various presses for the atlas press.
Sled dragging for the chain dragging.
Power stairs you could practice using a local HS football stadium stairs.
Hammer hold just use Olympic plates.

I tried once, only trained in powerlifting and bodybuilding prior.
Lots of things went wrong;
1. Never trained in the actual movements I would be doing in the contest
2. Missed the weight class I was going for by 1lb and ended up in the unlimited weight class
3. Didn’t do any cardio leading up to the event
I was pretty damn strong leading into the event and was bicycle riding at the time, 585 deadlift for reps, 545 squat for reps, 405 bench for reps.
Ended up dead last and threw up mid tractor pull due to over exertion. Even if I made weight I wouldn’t have been competitive.
A lot of things I would do differently, but still a cool experience and would do it again

I remember awhile back a video of a powerlifter training, and he did 5 sets of pull ups, 20 reps each set. (Crazy for his bear mode physique) That was more impressive to me than his deadlift.

The weight class thing kind of screwed me too, anything over 225.5 was “unlimited weight” so I was competing against guys who were significantly bigger than me and actually trained for the event
